WordPress SEO: what it covers

WordPress runs everything from small business sites to large publishers, and it is friendly to search engines when set up with care. Problems tend to build up over years of changes: themes swapped, plugins piled on, categories and tags created without a plan, and pages built in different editors. The result is often duplicate archives, slow templates and posts competing with each other for the same searches.

BOOST STAR Experts provides WordPress SEO for service businesses, B2B companies, publishers and brands with content-heavy sites. We are a remote team in India working with clients worldwide, and each project has a dedicated lead you can reach directly, a weekly written report and calls held during your business day. We fix the technical base, configure your SEO plugin properly and plan content around real search demand. Stores selling on WordPress should see our WooCommerce SEO page, and if a dedicated store platform would suit you better, we also handle moves to Shopify.

What WordPress SEO has to get right

Archive pages nobody planned

WordPress creates category, tag, author and date archives automatically. On many sites, hundreds of tags have one or two posts each, author archives duplicate the blog on single-author sites, and old attachment pages are still indexed. These thin pages dilute crawl attention and rarely satisfy a searcher.

Posts competing with each other

After years of publishing, it is common to find several posts targeting the same topic, each ranking poorly. Search engines cannot tell which one to show. Merging, redirecting and refocusing those posts often does more than writing new ones, but it needs a careful content inventory first.

Themes, builders and plugin overhead

Multipurpose themes and page builders load sliders, icon fonts and scripts across the whole site. Add analytics, chat, forms and social plugins, and simple pages become heavy. Block themes and the site editor are lighter, but moving to them is a project of its own.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an SEO plugin on WordPress?

Yes, for most sites an SEO plugin is the simplest way to control titles, meta descriptions, canonicals and schema. WordPress includes a basic XML sitemap, but not much else for search. One well-configured plugin is enough, and running two at once usually creates duplicate tags.

Should I noindex tag pages?

It depends on how the tags are used. Tags with many posts and a clear topic can be useful landing pages if they have a proper introduction. Tags with one or two posts usually add nothing, so we either noindex them, merge them or remove them with redirects.

Will changing my permalinks hurt rankings?

Changing permalinks can cause a temporary dip if old URLs are not redirected properly. With a complete 301 redirect map, updated internal links and a fresh sitemap, most sites settle again. We only recommend the change when the new structure is clearly better than the old one.

Do you write content as well as fix technical issues?

Yes, we handle both technical SEO and content. That includes keyword research, content briefs, new articles, service page copy and updates to older posts. Our writers work from your brand guidelines, and you review everything before it is published.
