Shopify agency for jewellery brands in the UK
Shopify stores for British jewellers and designer-makers that explain hallmarks properly, ship high-value pieces safely and make the most of every gifting date.
Jewellery eCommerce in the UK
The UK has one of the oldest consumer protection systems for precious metals in the world, and British buyers know to look for a hallmark. Jewellery here ranges from Hatton Garden diamond dealers and Birmingham Jewellery Quarter workshops to independent designer-makers selling recycled silver. Online, these businesses compete with high-street chains and marketplaces, and win by showing craftsmanship, provenance and proper legal detail that cheaper sellers often skip.
BOOST STAR Experts builds Shopify stores for UK fine jewellery, bridal and designer-maker brands. We add hallmark and assay information to product templates, set up insured delivery options with signature on arrival, and plan campaigns around the British gifting calendar. Our team works remotely from India with a large overlap with UK hours, so feedback on designs and fixes during busy weeks happen the same day.

Selling jewellery online in the UK
Hallmarking Act requirements
Under the Hallmarking Act 1973, items sold as gold, silver, platinum or palladium above small exemption weights must carry a hallmark from one of the four UK Assay Offices: London, Birmingham, Sheffield or Edinburgh. We add fields for fineness, assay office and exemption status, so each listing states clearly what the buyer is getting.
The Dealer’s Notice online
Businesses selling precious metal jewellery must display the Dealer’s Notice that explains hallmarks, and the British Hallmarking Council expects online sellers to show it on their website too. We add the notice to a dedicated page and link it from product pages and the footer, so it is easy to find without cluttering the buying journey.
Insured delivery for high-value orders
Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed offers tracked, signed-for next-day delivery with optional higher compensation levels, and specialist insured couriers cover pieces worth more. Insurance terms often depend on the service chosen. We set shipping rules that switch service by order value, require signatures above a threshold and show delivery commitments clearly at checkout.
British gifting dates and sizing
Valentine’s Day, Mothering Sunday in March, Christmas and the engagement season around New Year drive UK jewellery sales. Mothering Sunday falls months earlier than in the US, which catches out brands copying American calendars. British ring sizes use letters, so we add letter-size options, half sizes and resizing policies to bridal and gift pages.
Our approach for Jewellery stores
Store design
A refined storefront with generous white space, macro photography and short, confident copy. Navigation works by piece type, metal, stone and occasion, with dedicated sections for bridal, gifts and made-to-order, and trust details such as certification and insured delivery visible from the header down.
Product pages
Metal, stone and carat selectors with live price updates and images that change per metal colour, on-hand and on-model photos for scale, 360-degree video, certificate and hallmark details, engraving fields with character limits and an estimated dispatch date for made-to-order pieces.
Collections & search
Filters for metal, purity, stone, shape, price band and occasion, with collections for birthstones, anniversaries and personalised pieces. Search handles terms such as solitaire, eternity band or lab-grown, and shows the matching metal colour in the results grid.
SEO
Collection pages written for searches such as lab-grown diamond engagement rings or gold hoop earrings, buying guides on stones, cuts and metals, product schema with material details, and image optimisation so pieces can rank in Google Images and Shopping.
Conversion (CRO)
Ring size guide with a printable sizer, free resizing messaging, instalment payments shown on the product page, a book-a-consultation option for bridal buyers, live chat for questions before checkout and wishlist sharing so partners can drop a hint.
Marketing & retention
Gifting calendars around Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and the festive season with order-by dates, anniversary and birthday reminder flows, care and cleaning emails after delivery and Meta and Google Shopping campaigns that show the exact metal variant.

Frequently asked questions
Do our pieces need to be hallmarked before we list them?
If an item is described as gold, silver, platinum or palladium and weighs more than the exemption threshold for that metal, it must be hallmarked by a UK Assay Office before sale. Light pieces below the threshold can be sold unhallmarked. We can show hallmark details, or the exemption, on each product page, but your assay office confirms what applies.
Can you show lab-grown and natural diamonds clearly?
Yes. UK consumer protection law requires accurate descriptions, so we label lab-grown stones in product titles, filters and specification tables, and include grading certificates where you have them. Side-by-side comparison pages help buyers understand price differences between natural and lab-grown pieces without feeling misled about either option.
How do you reduce fraud on expensive jewellery orders?
We use Shopify’s fraud analysis, hold orders with mismatched billing and shipping addresses for review, require signature on delivery and avoid shipping high-value pieces to parcel lockers or safe places. For bespoke commissions, a deposit-based checkout reduces risk further while still letting customers commit online.
Can customers book a design consultation or showroom visit?
Yes. We add appointment booking for in-person or video consultations, which suits bespoke engagement rings and remodelling services. The booking can capture budget, metal preference and ring size up front, and connect to your calendar, so your team arrives prepared and the consultation turns into a commission more often.
