Shopify agency for brands selling in Kazakhstan
Shopify stores for Kazakhstani brands that want a direct channel next to Kaspi and Wildberries, with bilingual storefronts and payment set-ups that work locally.
Shopify experts for Kazakhstan brands
Kazakhstan’s online market is shaped by one super-app. Kaspi.kz combines banking, payments, instalments and a marketplace, and most shoppers use it daily, while Wildberries and Ozon have also grown quickly. That makes a brand-owned store a deliberate choice: brands build one to own customer relationships, control presentation and sell products that do not suit a marketplace. Fashion, cosmetics, home goods and food brands from Almaty and Astana lead the way.
BOOST STAR Experts builds Shopify stores for Kazakhstani brands and for foreign brands entering Kazakhstan. We set up Kazakh and Russian storefronts, local payment gateways and delivery across a very large country. Then we work on SEO for Russian and Kazakh search terms, Instagram and TikTok campaigns and retention flows. Because global gateways rarely serve Kazakhstan, payment planning comes first.
Selling online in Kazakhstan: what your store needs
Kaspi, local cards and QR payments
Kaspi Pay and Kaspi QR are the payments most shoppers reach for, and instalment plans through Kaspi are hugely popular. Cards from Halyk and other local banks are widely used too. Shopify Payments and Stripe do not serve Kazakhstan, so stores connect local providers such as Freedom Pay or CloudPayments, and we check each one’s Shopify integration before you commit.
Fiscal receipts and data localisation
Sales must be recorded through online cash registers connected to a fiscal data operator, and customers receive electronic receipts. Kazakhstan’s personal data law requires data on Kazakhstani citizens to be stored on servers inside the country, which affects how customer data is handled across apps. VAT rules changed under the new 2026 tax code, so confirm registration with your accountant.
Delivery across vast distances
Almaty and Astana have fast courier delivery, but shipping to smaller cities across the steppe takes longer. CDEK, Kazpost and Yandex Delivery are common options, with pickup points popular. Shoppers compare delivery speed with what they get from Kaspi, so we show realistic times by city and offer pickup options wherever possible.
Two languages and Instagram commerce
Kazakh is the state language and Russian is widely used, and consumer information and advertising generally need to be available in Kazakh as well as Russian. Instagram is a major sales channel, with many brands taking orders through direct messages and WhatsApp. A Shopify store gives these brands a proper catalogue and checkout without losing that conversational style.

Frequently asked questions
Can a Shopify store accept Kaspi payments?
Kaspi’s payment tools are built mainly around its own ecosystem, and Shopify does not offer a standard Kaspi integration. Options depend on what Kaspi offers your business at the time; some brands add Kaspi QR through a link or custom flow. We review the options with you and combine them with a card gateway that works with Shopify.
Is Shopify Payments available in Kazakhstan?
No. Kazakhstani stores use local payment providers instead. We shortlist gateways that support Kazakhstani merchants and Shopify, compare fees and settlement, and test card payments before launch. For international customers we look at providers that accept foreign cards as well.
Does Shopify meet Kazakhstan’s data localisation rules?
Shopify stores data on its own servers outside Kazakhstan, so you should take legal advice on how the personal data law applies to your business. Some brands keep certain records in a locally hosted system as well. We can integrate Shopify with local systems if your adviser recommends it.
Should our store be in Kazakh, Russian or both?
Both, in most cases. Russian reaches the widest audience online, while Kazakh is the state language and is expected in consumer information and advertising. Shopify Markets lets us run both on one store with hreflang, and we can add English for export.
What is it like working with a team in India?
Easy on timing: India is only 30 minutes ahead of Kazakhstan, so our working days match. We hold calls when it suits you, keep tasks on a shared board and review every change on a staging store. We work remotely and have no office in Kazakhstan.
