Shopify experts for Vietnam brands

Vietnam’s online retail has grown fast, led by Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and Tiki. Domestic shoppers are mobile-first, discover products through livestreams and social media and often pay on delivery or by scanning a QR code. At the same time, Vietnam has a large community of cross-border Shopify sellers, from print-on-demand and dropshipping businesses to garment, furniture and coffee brands selling directly to customers overseas.

BOOST STAR Experts works with both groups. For domestic brands we build Vietnamese storefronts with local payment apps, courier integrations and a reason to buy direct rather than through marketplaces. For cross-border sellers we build fast English-language stores, product feeds, Meta and Google campaigns and fulfilment setups for the US, Europe and Australia. The small time difference makes day-to-day collaboration easy.

Selling online in Vietnam: what your store needs

COD, QR codes and wallets

Cash on delivery is still common, especially for first orders from a new brand. Bank transfers by QR code through VietQR have become very popular, and wallets such as MoMo, ZaloPay and VNPay are widely used. Local gateways such as VNPay and OnePay handle domestic cards and wallets, while cross-border stores usually rely on PayPal and international card processors.

Registration, VAT and data rules

Websites that sell goods in Vietnam must be notified to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the registration badge is commonly shown in the footer. The standard VAT rate is 10%, with lower rates for some goods. Vietnam’s personal data protection rules require consent and clear notices on how customer data is used.

Couriers and fast city delivery

GHN (Giao Hàng Nhanh), GHTK (Giao Hàng Tiết Kiệm), Viettel Post, VNPost and J&T Express deliver most domestic parcels, and Ahamove or GrabExpress handle same-day delivery in the big cities. Shoppers expect to inspect parcels before paying on delivery, so returns and failed deliveries need clear rules and tracking.

Marketplaces, livestreams and Zalo

Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop dominate discovery, and livestream selling is part of everyday shopping. Customers often message a shop on Zalo or Facebook Messenger before buying. A brand store works best alongside these channels, with exclusive bundles, loyalty perks and chat buttons that connect to the apps customers already use.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Shopify store in Vietnam accept MoMo, VNPay and COD?

Yes. Cash on delivery is available as a manual payment method, and local wallets, QR bank transfers and domestic cards can be added through Vietnamese gateways that offer Shopify integrations. We confirm which provider suits your business registration, then test every method on mobile before launch.

Do you work with cross-border and print-on-demand sellers?

Yes. Many Vietnamese Shopify sellers serve customers in the US, Europe and Australia. We build fast English storefronts, connect print-on-demand or fulfilment partners, set up product feeds and run Meta and Google campaigns, with tracking that shows which products and ads are actually profitable.

Can Shopify sync with Shopee, Lazada or TikTok Shop?

Yes, through official channel apps or connector tools. We sync products and stock so you do not oversell, keep pricing rules consistent and use your own store for exclusives and loyalty, so customers have a reason to come back and buy direct.

How easy is it to work with a team in India from Vietnam?

Very easy. India is only 1.5 hours behind Vietnam, so our working days almost completely overlap. Calls can be scheduled across most of your day, and we use shared project boards and chat for quick questions between meetings, so small issues never wait a day.

Do we need a Vietnamese-language store?

For domestic customers, yes. Vietnamese shoppers search and buy in Vietnamese, and product details, policies and order messages should be in Vietnamese too. If you also sell abroad, Shopify Markets can run Vietnamese and English versions from one store, each with its own currency and content.
