Your partner in global eCommerce expansion
We help ambitious eCommerce brands expand globally with localised Shopify experiences, international commerce infrastructure, and scalable growth strategies.
Expand into new markets, sell in local currencies, deliver localised shopping experiences, and build a scalable global eCommerce business with BOOST STAR Experts.
Selling internationally takes more than switching on shipping to other countries. A shopper in Germany, Japan or the UAE expects to see prices in their own currency, read the store in their own language, pay with the methods they already trust, and know the delivery time and the final cost, including duties, before they buy. When any of that is missing, international traffic arrives and leaves without ordering.
Behind the storefront sit the harder questions: which markets to enter first, whether one Shopify store with several markets is enough or a region needs its own store, how tax and duties are collected, which carriers and fulfilment partners serve each country, and how each market will be found in its own search results.
BOOST STAR Experts works as your technology and growth partner through all of it. We plan the expansion, configure Shopify for each market, localise the store, connect payments, shipping and fulfilment, and then grow each market with international SEO, advertising and conversion optimisation, from one team.
- Different currencies and regional pricing

Shopify Markets: build a store that sells worldwide
Shopify Markets lets one Shopify store sell to many countries and regions, each with its own currency, language, domain and pricing. We set it up around your markets, products and plan.
Several markets from one admin
Group countries into markets and manage each one’s settings, content and reporting from the same Shopify admin.
Market-specific currencies
Shoppers see and pay prices in their local currency where your payment provider supports it, with rounding rules that keep prices tidy.
Localised languages
Translated storefront, product and checkout content for each market, managed with Shopify’s translation tools or a translation app.
International domains and subfolders
Country domains, subdomains or subfolders such as /en-de or /fr-fr, chosen for SEO and how your team will run each market.
Regional pricing
Price adjustments per market and, where your plan supports it, fixed local prices for chosen products, so margins hold after exchange rates and duties.
Market-specific product availability
Show or hide products by market, for regulatory reasons, stock or range strategy, without running a separate catalogue by hand.
Local customer experiences
Local content, delivery promises, payment methods and duties shown up front, so international shoppers know what they will pay before checkout.
One store with several markets, or several Shopify stores?
Most brands start with one store and Shopify Markets. A separate store per region makes sense when a market needs to run differently. We recommend the structure after the assessment, not before.
Shopify Managed Markets (formerly Markets Pro), where Shopify and its partner act as the merchant of record and handle duties, import taxes and local compliance for cross-border orders, is available only to eligible merchants in supported countries. We check eligibility for your store before recommending it.
Which Markets features you can use, such as fixed local prices, the number of markets or duties collected at checkout, depends on your Shopify plan, your payment provider and your store’s country. We confirm what applies to your store against Shopify’s current documentation.

Frequently asked questions
What is Shopify internationalisation?
It is the work of preparing a Shopify store to sell in other countries properly: local currencies and languages, the right domains or subfolders, regional pricing and product availability, local payment methods, international shipping, tax and duties, and international SEO, so shoppers in each market can find the store and buy with confidence.
What is Shopify Markets?
Shopify Markets is Shopify’s built-in tool for selling to several countries and regions from one store. It lets you group countries into markets and set currencies, languages, domains or subfolders, pricing and product availability for each one. What you can use depends partly on your Shopify plan and payment provider.
Should we use one Shopify store or several stores for international markets?
Most brands should start with one store and Shopify Markets: it is simpler and cheaper to run. Separate stores make sense when a region needs its own range, brand, team, warehouse, legal entity or pricing structure. We recommend the structure after reviewing your products, operations and target markets.
Do we need Shopify Plus to sell internationally?
No. Shopify Markets is available on standard Shopify plans. Shopify Plus becomes useful when you need expansion stores for separate regions, more advanced checkout customisation, larger B2B or market structures, or higher API limits for integrations. We will tell you honestly whether your plan is enough.
Can customers pay in their local currency?
Yes, in most cases. With a supported payment provider such as Shopify Payments, prices can be shown and charged in the shopper’s local currency. Which currencies and payment methods are available depends on your store’s country and your payment provider, which we check during the assessment.
Can you translate our Shopify store into other languages?
Yes. We implement multiple languages with Shopify’s translation tools or a translation app, and localise product content, messaging and units rather than relying only on automatic translation. We can also arrange professional translation or review for key pages.
How do you handle taxes and duties for international orders?
We configure Shopify’s tax and duty settings and, where your store is eligible, collecting duties and import taxes at checkout so customers are not surprised on delivery. Tax registration and legal obligations differ by country, so we work alongside your accountant or tax adviser rather than giving tax advice.
What is Shopify Managed Markets?
Shopify Managed Markets, previously called Markets Pro, lets Shopify and its partner act as the merchant of record for cross-border orders, handling duties, import taxes and local compliance. It is only available to eligible merchants in supported countries, so we check eligibility for your store before recommending it.
Can you set up international shipping and fulfilment?
Yes. We configure shipping zones and rates, connect carriers and third-party logistics partners, plan cross-border or regional fulfilment, and set up returns and exchange workflows that work for international customers.
How does international SEO work for a Shopify store?
Each market needs its own crawlable URLs (country domains or subfolders), correct hreflang tags so search engines show the right version in each country, translated and localised metadata, and keyword research in the local language. We set this up and then grow organic visibility market by market, including AI search.
Which markets should we expand into first?
It depends on demand for your products, competition, shipping costs and times, duties, payment preferences and the effort each market needs. Our market research compares these so you start where the return is likely to be strongest. Existing international orders and traffic are often the best early signal.
Can you run advertising in new markets?
Yes. We plan Google Ads and Meta Ads per country with localised creatives, budgets and tracking, and report performance market by market so spend moves to the markets that perform.
Can you internationalise an existing Shopify store?
Yes, most projects start with a live store. We review the current theme, apps, content and settings, then add markets, languages, currencies, payments and shipping without rebuilding the store unless that is genuinely needed.
How long does a Shopify internationalisation project take?
As a guide, adding one or two markets with currencies, shipping and basic localisation can take a few weeks, while a multi-language rollout across several regions with integrations and international SEO can take a few months. We give a dated timeline once the scope is agreed.
How much does Shopify internationalisation cost?
It depends on the number of markets and languages, the localisation and integration work, and the growth services you need. After the assessment we send a fixed-scope quote. Shopify subscriptions, apps, translation services and payment or duty fees are billed separately by their providers.
Do you provide support after the international launch?
Yes. We monitor each market after launch and offer ongoing support, new markets and languages, performance work, international SEO, advertising and CRO under a monthly plan or as needed.
How do we get started?
Request a global expansion audit with the form on this page. We review your store, current international traffic and orders, products and goals, and come back with recommended markets, the right Shopify setup and a clear plan with scope, timeline and quote.
