Shopify agency for Montreal brands
Bilingual Shopify stores for Montreal’s fashion, food and design brands, built to meet Quebec’s language and privacy rules.
Shopify development and growth for Montreal brands
Montreal has a distinct creative identity: a fashion industry rooted in the garment workshops of the Chabanel district, an independent design scene in Mile End and the Plateau, and a food culture known across North America. Montreal brands sell first to a French-speaking home market, then to the rest of Canada and the US. They need Shopify stores that work equally well in French and English, follow Quebec’s language and privacy laws, and still feel like the brand rather than a translated template.
We work with Montreal brands remotely from India. Eastern time mornings match our evenings, so calls, reviews and testing sessions happen early in your day. We work in English with your team, and French content is translated and reviewed by fluent speakers or by your team before launch, never published as raw machine translation.
What Montreal brands need from their store
French first, by law
Under the Charter of the French Language, commercial websites aimed at Quebec consumers must be available in French. We build bilingual stores with French as an equal or default language, translated checkout text and separate French URLs that rank in search.
Law 25 privacy rules
Quebec’s Law 25 introduced stricter consent and transparency rules for personal data. We set up a consent banner that blocks tracking until a visitor agrees, a clear privacy policy page and settings that respect choices across analytics and ad platforms.
Moving Day on 1 July
Many Quebec leases end on 30 June, so a large part of the city moves on 1 July. Furniture, home decor and appliance brands can plan campaigns, delivery slots and bundles around Moving Day, when demand for home products spikes.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need our whole Shopify store in French?
If you sell to consumers in Quebec, French should cover the customer-facing store: navigation, product pages, policies, checkout and emails. We set up French and English with a language switcher and hreflang tags so each version ranks for the right searches.
How does QST work in Shopify?
Quebec charges QST of 9.975% in addition to 5% GST. We configure both in Shopify so they appear correctly at checkout and on invoices. Revenu Québec registration rules apply to many sellers, so confirm your obligations with your accountant.
Is BOOST STAR based in Montreal?
No. We are a remote team in India and do not have a Montreal office. We work with Quebec brands through video calls in Eastern hours, a shared board and recorded walkthroughs, and coordinate French translation and review as part of the plan.
