Shopify development for brands selling in the Netherlands
Shopify and Shopify Plus development for the Dutch and Belgian markets, with local payments, shipping platforms, accounting connections and accessible code.
Shopify Development for Netherlands brands
Dutch merchants tend to run efficient, well-connected operations. A typical stack includes a shipping platform such as Sendcloud or MyParcel, a warehouse system like Picqer, and Exact Online or Moneybird for accounting. A new Shopify store has to slot into that setup cleanly, offer iDEAL and other local payment options, and work just as well for Belgian shoppers, who expect Bancontact and sometimes French content.
BOOST STAR Experts provides Shopify developers for Dutch brands and international brands entering the Benelux, working remotely from India. We build custom themes and sections, configure Shopify Markets for the Netherlands and Belgium, connect shipping, warehouse and accounting systems, and write custom apps where off-the-shelf options fall short. Our afternoon overlaps your morning, so live testing and fixes happen in your working hours.

What shopify development in the Netherlands needs
Shipping platforms and delivery options
Sendcloud, MyParcel and the PostNL app let a store print labels for several carriers and show delivery options at checkout. We integrate the right one, add evening or pickup-point delivery where offered and display order cut-off times in the theme based on your warehouse’s actual schedule.
Warehouse and accounting connections
Picqer, Exact Online and Moneybird are widely used by Dutch online retailers. We connect them to Shopify, map products, VAT rates and payment methods, and test the full flow from order to invoice to return, so stock levels and bookkeeping stay accurate without manual work.
Payments for Dutch and Belgian shoppers
iDEAL is available through Shopify Payments, and providers such as Mollie offer it alongside Bancontact, Klarna and Riverty. We decide with you which provider suits your volumes and markets, set up each method for the right country and test refunds as well as payments.
Accessibility and Dutch consumer rules
The European Accessibility Act has applied to many consumer online shops in the Netherlands since 28 June 2025, with exemptions for micro-enterprises. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA and help prepare an accessibility statement. We also make sure required business details and withdrawal information appear where Dutch shoppers expect them.

Frequently asked questions
Should we use Shopify Payments or Mollie for iDEAL?
Shopify Payments supports iDEAL and keeps everything in one place with no extra transaction fee. Mollie is popular with Dutch merchants for its wide range of local methods and familiar dashboard, but Shopify charges an additional fee on third-party gateways. We compare costs for your volume and markets before deciding.
Can you connect our Shopify store to Exact Online?
Yes. We use a tested connector to sync orders, customers, payments and VAT to Exact Online, and agree how refunds and gift cards are booked. Your bookkeeper reviews the mapping before launch, and we run test orders to confirm the entries match what they expect.
Can one store serve both the Netherlands and Belgium?
Yes. Shopify Markets can run a Dutch version for both countries, a French version for Wallonia and different shipping rates and payment methods per country. Where Belgian Dutch wording differs, such as for certain product terms, we add country-specific content.
How long does Shopify development take for a Dutch brand?
A Dutch-localised store with local payments and a shipping platform typically takes 4 to 8 weeks. Builds with warehouse and accounting integrations, B2B pricing or several Benelux markets usually take 8 to 12 weeks. We share a dated plan after scoping.
