Retargeting that brings shoppers back without following them everywhere

We build audiences from site visitors, cart abandoners, product viewers and customer lists, then show each group a relevant reminder on the platforms they use, at a sensible frequency.

Remarketing and Retargeting: what it covers

Most people who visit a store leave without buying on their first visit. They are comparing options, waiting for payday or simply got distracted. Remarketing keeps your brand in front of these warm shoppers with ads that reflect what they looked at, so when they are ready to buy, your store is the one they remember and return to.

We build audiences around intent: everyone who visited, people who viewed specific products or collections, those who added to cart or started checkout, and past customers uploaded from Shopify. Each group gets its own message and time window. A shopper who abandoned a cart yesterday needs a different reminder from a customer who bought months ago and might be due for a refill.

Campaigns run across Google, Meta, Microsoft Advertising and TikTok, using product feeds for dynamic ads that show the exact items people viewed. We manage frequency and exclusions so recent buyers are not chased with products they already own, and we set up consent mode and cookie consent properly so audiences are built only from visitors who agreed to it.

The challenges we solve

Ads that feel like stalking

Showing the same product to the same person dozens of times after they leave a site annoys shoppers and wastes budget. Sensible time windows, frequency control and fresh creative keep retargeting helpful rather than intrusive, and stop your brand becoming the ad people have learned to scroll past.

Paying to reach people who already bought

Without exclusions, retargeting keeps spending on customers who completed their order an hour ago, and can take credit for sales that would have happened anyway. Excluding recent purchasers, splitting new and returning customers and reading results carefully gives a more honest picture of what retargeting adds.

Audiences shrinking under privacy changes

Browser restrictions, iOS tracking prompts and cookie consent rules mean fewer visitors can be added to audience lists than before. Server-side events, customer list uploads and properly configured consent mode help recover what can be measured legitimately, while respecting the choices visitors make on your cookie banner.

Our Remarketing services

Website visitor audiences

Audiences based on pages viewed, engagement and recency, so a quick bounce and a visitor who browsed several collections receive different messages and budgets.

Cart and checkout abandoners

High-intent campaigns for shoppers who added to cart or reached checkout, showing the items they left alongside reassurance on delivery, returns or payment options.

Dynamic product retargeting

Product ads generated from your Shopify catalogue feed through Google Merchant Center, Meta Advantage+ catalog ads and TikTok catalog ads where available, showing people the items they viewed or close alternatives.

Customer-list campaigns

Customer lists from Shopify, hashed before upload, used in Google Customer Match and Meta custom audiences for cross-sell, replenishment and lookalike prospecting where the platform allows it.

Cross-platform retargeting

Coordinated campaigns on Google, YouTube, Meta, Microsoft Advertising and TikTok, with messages that build on each other instead of repeating one banner on every network.

Frequency management

Frequency caps where the campaign type supports them, plus audience windows, budgets and creative rotation, so reminders stay present without becoming tiresome.

Audience exclusions

Recent purchasers, existing customers on first-order offers and visitors to irrelevant pages such as careers are removed, so budget goes to people who might still buy.

Customer reactivation

Campaigns for past customers who have not ordered in a while, using new arrivals, refill reminders or loyalty offers, coordinated with your email win-back flow.

Consent and privacy

Cookie consent banners connected to Google consent mode and the equivalent controls on other platforms, so tags respect each visitor's choice and audience lists follow GDPR and similar privacy rules.

How we work

Business & Market Discovery

We learn how your business makes money: your products, margins, customers, competitors, target markets and revenue goals, so every later decision is anchored to commercial reality rather than platform metrics.

Marketing Audit & Research

We review existing campaigns, tracking setup, audience data, ad account history, creative performance and how well your website converts, to find wasted spend, missing data and quick opportunities.

Strategy & Campaign Planning

We choose the right channels, allocate budget between them, and plan campaign structure, target audiences, creative direction and the conversion goals each campaign will be measured against.

Campaign Setup & Launch

We configure campaigns, conversion tracking, landing pages, creatives, audiences and conversion events, then check everything fires correctly before launch so data is reliable from the first day.

Testing & Optimisation

We run structured tests on audiences, keywords, creatives, bidding strategies, landing pages and budget splits, keeping what works and retiring what does not, one clear change at a time.

Reporting & Scaling

We analyse results, highlight new opportunities and report in plain language. When the data is reliable and returns hold up, we scale budgets and expand into new channels, products or markets.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between remarketing and retargeting?

In practice there is very little difference: both mean showing ads or messages to people who have already interacted with your brand. Google uses the word remarketing, while many marketers say retargeting for campaigns on Meta and other networks. Some people use remarketing more broadly to include email reminders, which we coordinate with the ad side.

How long should someone stay in a retargeting audience?

It depends on how long your customers take to decide. Lower-priced impulse products may only need a window of a week or two, while furniture, jewellery and other considered purchases can justify a month or more. We set windows from your own data on the time between first visit and purchase, then test shorter and longer versions.

Is retargeting allowed under privacy laws such as GDPR?

Yes, retargeting is allowed when visitors have given the consent your markets require and your privacy policy explains it. In the UK and EU that means a proper cookie consent banner connected to Google consent mode and the equivalent controls on other platforms, so advertising tags only collect data when visitors agree. We check this setup before building audiences.

Can retargeting work for a small store?

Yes, but small audiences need a simpler structure. Ad platforms require a minimum audience size before ads can serve, so smaller stores usually combine audiences, use longer windows and lean on customer lists and email until site traffic grows. We decide budgets from audience size and margin rather than a fixed amount.

How do you know retargeting is actually adding sales?

We look beyond the conversions each platform claims, because retargeting often reaches people who would have bought anyway. Reports separate new and returning customers, compare results with and without exclusions, and use holdout or conversion lift tests where the platform and budget allow, so you can judge the real contribution.
